Top 10 MLP:FiM Couples

In a previous journal (one that I did a long while ago) I mentioned that I don't ship ponies.

Well, that is technically true. I don't actively seek out shipfics, nor do I write shipfics myself.

However, I, like almost any fan of the show, DO have a few pairings that I'd either prefer to see happen (if they're not "official" yet), or wish would be taken further (if they are "official").

I ranked them based on four factors:
1. How much I like the characters themselves. (This isn't the primary factor, though. Otherwise "Rainbow Dash x Soarin" would be closer to number 1, if not number 1.)
2. How much "canon" evidence there is of the couple. (Some people would dispute certain moments between the characters as whether it's of love or of friendship.)
3. How likely the pairing would become "official". (As in, how likely the characters would be to get married at some point in the future.)
4. How much chemistry the characters have. (This IS the primary factor in determining my rankings.)

10. Cloud Chaser x Thunderlane: I know these two have not had much, if any, interaction of any kind over the course of the series. But I put them on here since they're both either Wondebolt Trainees or official Wonderbolts (not sure which one), and I needed a tenth pairing.

9. Vinyl Scratch x Octavia: They're this low on the list for one reason. Their interactions in "Slice of Life" don't give off the same romantic vibe as the ones between Lyra and Bon Bon.

8. Celestia x Discord: I know its a bit clichéd to support this pairing, but whatever. My main reason for shipping them is really the bit when Discord gives Celestia flowers near the end of "Twilight's Kingdom".

7. Fluttershy x Bulk Biceps: Yes, I ship these two. Their interactions in "Rainbow Falls" were cute enough that I support them as a pairing.

6. Derpy x Doctor Whooves: Aside from her controversial scene in "The Last Roundup" and her non-speaking role in "Rainbow Falls", Derpy hasn't had much development outside of "Slice of Life". Doctor Whooves hasn't had any outside of that episode at all. This lack of development is why they aren't in the top 5. However, I found their extended interaction in "Slice of Life" to be oddly just touching enough that I gave them a spot on the list.

5. Rainbow Dash x Soarin: Rainbow Dash is my favorite mane 6 member, and my second favorite character overall. Soarin is my favorite of the three Wonderbolts who have been given any focus whatsoever. Plus, I found the interactions between the two in "Rainbow Falls" to be oddly touching. That's really all I have on these two.

4. Twilight x Flash Sentry: I know I'm in the minority of people who don't hate Flash Sentry. And I know I used a picture of them as ponies, but I wanted to have consistent pictures, and this is the only human pairing that I actually support. Anyways, I think these two actually have good chemistry between them, which is why they're in the top 5. However, Flash himself still doesn't have much of a personality, which is why they're only number 4.

3. Lyra x Bon Bon: This couple had to be somewhere on the list, despite neither of them getting any focus until "Slice of Life". I mean, the majority of the time that one of them has appeared throughout the series, the other was somewhere in the immediate vicinity. And the way they talked to each other in "Slice of Life" made sure they had a high spot on the list. However, since they never outright stated that they love each other, and someone brought to my attention that people in real life can be that close without being in love, they only get the number 3 spot. 

2. Cheerilee x Big Macintosh: Admittedly, the two of them hadn't had a lot of interaction prior to "Hearts and Hooves Day". And they haven't had any major roles since that episode. But in the few times they've been seen, most of them have had the two together. And it was Cheerilee being the only pony to swoon over Big Mac "singing" in "Filli Vanilli" that guaranteed this pairing a spot on the list.

1. Pinkie Pie x Cheese Sandwich: Cheese Sandwich is my favorite MLP character of all time, you guys know this. I've also repeatedly explained why I like him so much. So who better to pair him with than the one who inspired him to become such a huge party pony in the first place. Plus, "Pinkie Pride" had such a touching ending between the two of them.
